Exciting update: This campaign got bigger than we could have imagined! I was hoping for support from family and friends, but when we started getting support from kickstarter community we were blown away. My parents thought if this was going beyond our original plan we should check with a lawyer to make sure we weren’t stepping on any toes - we found out Wizard Duel already has a trademark!
When I heard, I was a little excited! I named the game over two years ago and always thought it was a little plain...I love the opportunity for creatively finding a more unique name.
Arcaven's Duel is the new name!
I landed on Arcaven’s Duel - it’s the name of the land where the wizards battle and it means secret/mysterious wizard in Latin. I love that it’s more unique and still describes the game action
There will be no changes to the game, just minimal tweaks to artwork (back of the card).
As you get your surveys this week, you’ll start to see some Arcaven’s Duel as we work on updating the art on the website and the backerkit surveys

We have 12 hours left of the Kickstarter. I want to thank you all so much for your encouragement and support. This has been an incredible journey, I've learned so much about running a business and the effort it takes to create something. I know more about unit pricing, profit margins, marketing costs, and many more things.
So many people have invested so much in this project, giving their time, effort, and money to make it come to life. Now, seeing how many people have supported me and how far we've come means more than words could describe.
I'm overall a better person because of this; this has probably been the greatest experience of my life. Thank you all for coming on this journey with me.

Wow! Just 48 hours left in the campaign and we are so close to hitting the $30,000 stretch goal. This video has my favorite opening so far!

New wave of Dice - Stretch Goal #2
We hit Stretch Goal #2 and that means every order will get 2 dice to use as counter dice in the game (instead of the charge and heart tokens provided with the game). We have so many backers, we had to order more dice in addition to the hand-made dice. These ones look great and have some really cool sparkle. They are themed black and purple so they fit well with the deck and the playmat.
Stretch Goal #1, new card update
When we hit $15,000 I announced a new card and pick one of my backers to choose the name of the card. I got to talk to Kristen via FaceTime today and we talked through some great options...and she picked MIMIC for the new card. Check out the imagery below...it is such an exciting card, to be added to the Lock Deck, this one will surely be a game changer for whoever is able to race to get it! Kristen was great to work with on naming our new card.
Stretch Goal #3 - I give $2500
I am most excited about this stretch goal, because my goal is to inspire kids to use their creativity and to bring people together with games. There are a lot of kids who are struggling and need help to meet daily needs, if we can help them then they will have a better chance to use their creativity and that is good for everyone! Please check out the 3 causes that make a HUGE impact on kids!
Caring Coalition is a nonprofit right here in my neighborhood that feeds kids who might otherwise go hungry on weekends and school breaks. Me and my neighborhood friends have helped organize donations and even done our own micro food drives for Caring Coalition - they provide important, tangible help to kids in our own neighborhood. We live in downtown Phoenix, AZ and we see the need everyday.

Western Youth Services is another organization I’ve chosen because of the important work they do to support the mental health of kids. Their CEO, Lorry, and her team have been helping kids through highschool for decades get the skills to recover from trauma and live a full life. WYS works directly with school districts and teaches kids and teachers. We all know how hard the last few years have been - mental health is one of the most important needs in our community!

Starfish Partnerships is a really cool nonprofit that supports moms and kids who have been victims of sex trafficking. It’s a partnership between the Arizona State University and the City of Phoenix and meets a great need of supporting people who have experienced trauma - providing these families with hope!
Wizard Duel goes to Disneyland PLUS Live interview with a star!

For the last week of the campaign, we are in Disneyland to do a live interview with one of the biggest entertainment stars in the world.
We are in the last week of the Wizard Duel Kickstarter campaign. I'm amazed by how much encouragement and support there's been from around the world! A few updates first, and then my interview below:
1. Our foil stamp cards are in production! - We've got seven different editions of the collectors edition cards. These come with the Collectors Edition tier and the All In tier.
2. Our decks are ready to be ordered! Once the campaign closes, Kickstarter will collect all the funds and after they send those to us we will place the order! Everything should be back to us and out to you by early November!
